Saw seals and watched the two pilot whales in the bay. Walked around Loch Coruisk and had time to relax and watch the whales again in the sun. Importantly, each tour is highly environmentally sensitive. Their interactions with wildlife, be they with seabirds or cetaceans, are carefully managed to avoid disturbance and their conduct in this area is exemplary. They really are a credit to the area and wider Scottish tourism industry.

We went for the standard trip giving us 1.5 hours on land which was just enough with a toddler. She loved seeing the seal colony. All in all a fantastic experience. We’ll definitely be back to do it all again. My mum is local and tells me the MacKinnons of Elgol have been doing the boat tours here for generations. Isn’t that lovely. Highly recommend for spectacular scenery, wildlife if you’re lucky and great story telling!

  Didn’t know what to expect from the boat trip especially as the weather was a bit drizzly to start but what a great outing I had. The crew (3 generations... read more of local MacKinnons) were so friendly and helpful. Seumas the younger regaled us with local information and amusing stories whilst Dad Sandy steered the boat to places of interest like the seal colony and would stop the boat to let us watch and photo porpoises and other interesting wildlife.
The highlight was when we landed ashore and took the short walk to Loch Coruisk, possibly the most beautiful place in the UK !!!!!. We had about and hour and a half ashore and on our return to the boat we were given a hot drink of our choice and biscuits. Then a boat full of excitedly chattering tourists were transported back to Elgol where we reluctantly got off the boat. Would definitely recommend Misty Isle cruises. I’ve already booked another trip for September!!!

  We were a little hesitant as the sea looked rough! However, we had an amazing trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk last week. Stunning views, great commentary with lots of... read more interesting details about the other islands and island life. The seals were bathing on the rocks as we neared the mooring point which was a highlight. We were allocated 30 minutes to walk around the loch (we chose the short trip) which is plenty of time but we chose to linger by the River and enjoy the solitude. Back on board we were offered tea, coffee or hot chocolate and of course - shortbread before making the short journey back to Elgol. This trip is an absolute must made extra special by the Misty Isles "crew" both on sea and land. Our trip lasted about an hour and a half at a cost of £25. Money well spent for a very enjoyable day in Elgol. Thank you everyone at Misty Isle Boat Trips. Visit the shop at the top of the hill too for coffee, cake, gifts and warm hospitality.

  Fantastic day/half-day out to the heart of the Cuillins. Take a stroll around (part of) Loch Coruisk and go for a swim in it - refreshing! The boat... read more crew are great - Sandy, Seamus and Coral. The family's been there for generations, and they have lots of entertaining stories to share. Highly recommended. They do several drop-offs during the day - take a boatload over, bring the previous ones back, take another over etc ... This gives you about 90 minutes, which go very quickly. If you want to do a bit of a walk, have a swim or just hang around and soak in the place, go before the last sailing (~2pm) and let them know you'd like to take a later return rather than take the next trip back.
