Importantly, each tour is highly environmentally sensitive. Their interactions with wildlife, be they with seabirds or cetaceans, are carefully managed to avoid disturbance and their conduct in this area is exemplary. They really are a credit to the area and wider Scottish tourism industry.

We saw a variety of sea birds and seals and were given a welcome hot drink after some cold wild swimming.

Amazing walk around the Loch when you get off the boat, not for the elderly or those with mobility problems as the ground is uneven at the other end, but a fantastic hike around the loch with stunning views, it's well worth the trip.

Take a picnic, there are no toilets when you get to Loch Coruisk and the toilets in Elgol are at the top of the village before you drive down to the jetty where you get the boat - so make sure you stop there if you have kids before hopping on! Lovely little coffee kiosk was open selling nice coffees, ice creams and sea food salads, great to get snacks before and after the trip.

  We were a little hesitant as the sea looked rough! However, we had an amazing trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk last week. The seals were bathing on the rocks as we neared the mooring point which was a highlight. We were allocated 30 minutes to walk around the loch (we chose the short trip) which is plenty of time but we chose to linger by the River and enjoy the solitude. Back on board we were offered tea, coffee or hot chocolate and of course - shortbread before making the short journey back to Elgol. This trip is an absolute must made extra special by the Misty Isles "crew" both on sea and land. Our trip lasted about an hour and a half at a cost of £25. Money well spent for a very enjoyable day in Elgol. Thank you everyone at Misty Isle Boat Trips. Visit the shop at the top of the hill too for coffee, cake, gifts and warm hospitality.
