My sister and her family came over from Boston Usa and we decided on a wee weekend up to Skye ...suggestions on what to do were made and one... read more was Misty Isles Boat Trip ..and how glad we decided to do this trip ..one of the reasons on taking the trip was the fact they allow dogs and we have an "old seadog"called pele aged 13 who goes on holiday with us ..Sandy and Seamus were great at lifting him on and off the boat as well as helping us all ...Seamus tells a good story en route with fact and some tongue in cheek yarnsIm also sure if Sandy had been born in the time of Bonnie prince charlie Flora macdonald wouldnt have needed to take him over sea to Skye as Sandy would have ..We saw plenty seals and then enough time onshore fr our picnic we brought and to take photos of the stunning landscape ...Return journey hot refreshements and biscuits ....great value for money great crew who made the trip for us as well as the beautiful Loch Coruisk ..

  Great boat trip definitely worth the visit. Definitely recommend the standard trip or longer. The people were lovely and super helpful with the dogs.

  We were a little hesitant as the sea looked rough! However, we had an amazing trip from Elgol to Loch Coruisk last week. Stunning views, great commentary with lots of... read more interesting details about the other islands and island life. The seals were bathing on the rocks as we neared the mooring point which was a highlight. We were allocated 30 minutes to walk around the loch (we chose the short trip) which is plenty of time but we chose to linger by the River and enjoy the solitude. Back on board we were offered tea, coffee or hot chocolate and of course - shortbread before making the short journey back to Elgol. This trip is an absolute must made extra special by the Misty Isles "crew" both on sea and land. Our trip lasted about an hour and a half at a cost of £25. Money well spent for a very enjoyable day in Elgol. Thank you everyone at Misty Isle Boat Trips. Visit the shop at the top of the hill too for coffee, cake, gifts and warm hospitality.

However, being able to take a gentle hike up to and along the loch and sit overlooking it and the 3,000' peaks in the background was impressive. This trip was one of the highlights of our stay on the Isle of Skye.

  I don't think I have ever seen such beautiful scenery in Scotland absolutely stunning, got on the Misty Isle Boat at Elgol in Skye and took us over Loch Coruisk... read more to a small jetty where we got off for around an hour to explore, on the way over we caught up with a pod of dolphins. Boat took us back over to Elgol and lovely hot chocolate and shortbread was handed out by the crew, if ever in Skye please book this boat trip you are in for a treat. There are some metal steps at the landing stage which our dog ( a labrador) was scared of climbing. Seamus, a crew member, offered to carry her up them! Coruisk Loch is beauriful, surrounded by the Cuillin Mountains. We had 90 minutes to explore which was only just long enough. It is possible to book for a longer time on shore if you want. On the return journey to Elgol harbour we were served complimentary drinkks and delicious shortbread. A great trip!

  Having returned from Loch Courisk on the Maid of Courisk, our family of 4 (including 2 kids) thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The trip out was smooth sailing and after a... read more spot of wild swimming in the Loch we returned in the capable hands of James and Helen with a shortbread and a coffee (hot chocolate for the kids!). The kids also got a shot steering the ship which was very nice of the crew, which our son really liked! One suggestion is to turn up early, as parking can be hard if you arrive at peak timings.
